The Cisco marketing case competition saw an increase in participation this year with the number of teams vying for a spot in the finals jumping from five to eight year-over-year. Ultimately, the top four teams advanced, and UNC’s top two teams finished second and fourth. Fuqua placed first and third.

The prompt was short, which provided an opportunity for teams to go in any direction. Teams went in a number of creative directions, and the judges (all Cisco employees) praised the preparation of all teams involved. This year, the BTC organized a meeting between the teams and Tim Flood to discuss general approaches to case competitions, and that was well received by the teams who attended.
